Model making of “La Provencale” – Part 02

Loading

This is part 2 of the model making of the “La Provencale”.

Things I learned during the project are listed on the homepage under “Insights of model making.” These are things that are actually quite obvious, but which I hadn’t paid enough attention to. For example, one of the ship’s frames broke, but I was able to glue it back on afterward. I also show this in the videoyou will find below.

I documented the construction of part 2 also in a gallery and on video and show the work steps in detail.

Part 2 covers the following topics:
– Gluing the planks on the opposite side
– Attaching the keel
– Assambling the ship stand
– Preparing the bow and stern
– Removing the ship from the slipway and cleaning it
– Testing the bow an stern, the railings, and the keelhog
– Attaching the bow and stern
– Filling holes and gaps with filler
– Modeling the stem
– Priming the hull
– Painting the hull
– Setting the waterline
– Painting the underwater ship
– Painting stem and upper hull

Part 1 of this project you can find here.
